1. Basic Method

This is the basic method for upgrading from Interspire WebSite Publisher from a previous version of Interspire WebSite Publisher

  1. Download the new version from the clientarea
  2. Backup all of your existing files
  3. Upload the new files from the zipfile

Once you have uploaded your files and browsed back to your installation you will be run through any database updates that are available in the browser based upgrade wizard.

2. Uploading Files

Unzip the FastFind package onto your local hard drive. If you don't have Winzip you can download it for free.

Using an FTP program (such as Filezilla, which is free, or a commercial package such as CuteFTP), login to your web server and copy the Interspire WebSite Publisher files down from your server to your hard drive. Once this back up is complete you can then copy across the newly downloaded files of the latest release of Interspire WebSite Publisher over the top of your old files. You will overwrite the old files with the new ones, thus upgrading.

3. Restoring Your Files

If you have modified your Interspire WebSite Publisher files for custom functions or even simply just changing the look and feel of the application you should now re upload these files. You can check the changelog.txt file found in the '/docs' folder of the zip file you downloaded to see what files have been modified so that you can make sure your customizations all still work.

Congratulations, you are now ready to login to the Interspire WebSite Publisher control panel and start adding content! Your control panel will be accessible by adding '/admin' onto the end of your website URL.
