This is an upgrade guide for Interspire Website Publisher. Upgrading is an easy process. If you have any problems or errors during installation, please send in a support ticket via your client area.

1. Basic Method

This is the basic method for upgrading from Interspire Website Publisher from a previous version of Interspire Website Publisher

  1. Download the new version from the clientarea
  2. Backup all of your existing files (A backup is just a copy of all your Website's files kept on your computer)
  3. Upload the new files from the zip file using an FTP program

Once you have uploaded your files, browse to your control panel in your web browser. Your upgrade may or may not run an upgrade wizard.

2. Uploading Files

Unzip the Website Publisher package onto your local hard drive. If you don't have Winzip you can download a trial for free.

Using an FTP program (such as Filezilla, which is free, or a commercial package such as CuteFTP), login to your web server. Create a backup by copying the Interspire Website Publisher files down from your server to your hard drive to an empty folder. Once this backup is complete you can then copy across the newly downloaded files of the latest release of Interspire Website Publisher over the top of your old files on your webserver. Overwrite all files if your FTP program prompts you. It is important that you upload ALL files.

3. Restoring Your Files

If you have made modifications to Interspire Website Publisher that you wish to restore, you'll need to use a program such as Beyond Compare to merge them into the new files. Then reupload those files with modifications.

Congratulations, you are now ready to login to the Interspire Website Publisher control panel and start adding content! Your control panel will be accessible by adding '/admin' onto the end of your Website URL.
