This directory is commonly called 'public_html', 'html', 'www' or 'website_html'. If you're not sure what it is, your webhost provider will be able to tell you.
3. File Permissions
Interspire Email Marketer requires the following files/directories to have 'write' permissions set. If you're running on a Linux or Unix web host, you can use your FTP program and use the 'CHMOD' ('Change Mode') function to grant write permissions. If your host is running Windows, you will need to contact them about setting up write permissions on these files/folders. Also, if a folder listed here doesn't exist, please create it.

4. MySQL/PostgreSQL Database
Interspire Email Marketer makes use of a MySQL or PostgreSQL database to store your data. This database must be created before you run the Interspire Email Marketer installation wizard. Your database user account should also have full grant access to that database.
You will need the database connection details during the setup wizard.
Setting up your database may differ with your webhost and what software they use for your webhosting control panel:
- If your webhost is running 'cPanel', read this guide
- If your webhost is running 'Plesk', read this guide.
- If your webhost uses a different website control panel, read this guide.
5. Setup Wizard
Interspire Email Marketer includes a simple one step installation process.
To start the setup wizard, navigate to the directory that you uploaded Interspire Email Marketer to, for example: http://www.yoursite.com/iem/. The Interspire Email Marketer setup wizard will appear. It contains the following fields:
- License Key - Copy the license key you received when you purchased Interspire Email Marketer and paste it here.
- Application URL- This is the URL to your Interspire Email Marketer installation (not your main website if this is in a sub folder)
- Email Address - This is the email that will be used for the super admin user that will be created, also it will be the default contact email which can be changed later via your settings page.
- Password & Confirm Password - This will become the password for your admin user. The username will be 'admin'.
- Database Information - You will need your database username, password, database name and host (usually 'localhost', though this may vary with some hosts).
- Send Server Configuration - This will send information about your server back to us. The data sent will be basic information such as your PHP version, MySQL version, etc. No information that can identify you or your website will be sent, it is completely anonymous. This will aid us in future development to know what versions of PHP and MySQL we can support among other things.
Your Interspire Email Marketer configuration details will now be saved into the admin/includes/config.php file. Your database tables will also been created.
Congratulations, you are now ready to login to the Interspire Email Marketer control panel and start adding content! Your control panel will be accessible by adding '/admin' onto the end of your website URL.

Hi,
I just purchased the Send Studio upgrade. Do I need to reinstall the whole thing? What happens to all my lists? |

Hi Reyza,
No, you simply need to upload your files over the top of your existing ones. The database will only have columns added to it. Your current lists, email campaigns, users and everything else will remain unaffected. If you have hesitations about this then you can always back up your database via phpMyAdmin before attempting the upgrade. |

What is the process if after purchasing Sendstudionx I need to change the location of my Sendstudionx. I would like to have it located under a different domain name then where I currently have it installed?
Can this change be made automatically or do I have to file a support ticket to have Interspire change the domain? Thanks, |

Hi Rick,
Yes this is more then possible. Simply put in a request with the Licensing department through your client area. You are entitled to one license key change per product installation. You will then need to update the 'admin/includes/conf ig.php' file with your new application path, license key and database details (if they are new). I hope this helps. If you have any issues with it please don't hesitate to open a support ticket and we can help you out. |

Hi,
Any idea what would cause some charts in AutoResponder Statistics to show while others don't show at all? Its almost as if the ones with data to show (not null or zero), don't display. Thanks, Swoop |

Is there a step by step guide for upgrade from studionx to emailmarketer? I'm not talking about creating data bases and such, I'm talking about getting my old lists and campaigns to be read by emailmarketer.
Now, I have: SS currently using, and EM on the same server, different sub folders different mysql databases. Can I replace a config file or drag and drop specific folders within SS co I can use my current database, campaigns, responders, subscriptions etc. or do I have to take the route already traveled, do a full install with a different database and slowly migrate all my data? |

Hi,
The process of upgrading to Email Marketer from SendStudio NX is quite simple. - download the new version from the clientarea (http://www.interspire.co m/clientarea) - backup all of your existing files - upload the new files from the zipfile - restore the admin/includes/config.php - restore any files you have modified for rebranding purposes It is also good practice to back up your database as there are some minor database changes, and whilst the chances of issues arising are slim as we have tested this extensively, it is always better to be safe then sorry. If you have any issues with upgrading please don't hesitate to open a support ticket and let us know what is going on. |
